Your AI should remember ts.

Clankmaxx is the one AI companion that actually knows you — it remembers your deadlines, teases you about your "one more episode," and asks how the presentation went. It lives on your Mac, and every chat picks up where the last one ended.

Two things actually due: the HIST 201 essay closes tomorrow at 11:59 PM, and the bio problem set is due Friday. Study group at 3, library second floor. Also — you said you'd get back to the robotics poster. That was four days ago.

It looks only when you ask.

Your clanker is not watching you. Screen understanding is something you trigger: ⌘⇧L, or just ask in chat. One look, an answer, done.

  • One screenshot, one time. A fresh capture of the active window, taken when you ask. No timer, no background watching.
  • Never saved. The image lives just long enough to answer your question. It is never written to disk.
  • You see exactly what happened. Every capture leaves a visible note in the chat naming the window.
  • Some windows are never captured. Password managers and anything on your excluded-apps list are off-limits by default.

It's a case mismatch: your column is Score, capital S, and line 14 asks for score. R treats those as two different names — fix one and it runs.

Classic (default)

the original Clankmaxx voice: warm, concise, no bit.

"You have a deadline tomorrow — want to plan it out?"

Deadpan Roommate

dry, understated commentary from someone who has witnessed this exact disaster before.

"unfortunate. now expectations exist"

Academically Doomed Creature

a tiny, dramatic companion surviving college alongside you.

"wait all three tonight"

Quietly Judgmental Animal

a small observer that notices exactly what happened and mostly doesn't comment.

"that appears to be a different textbook"

Supportive (Allergic to Sincerity)

warm underneath, embarrassed by saying so.

"obviously. disgusting question. next"

Dramatically Devoted Pet

a fiercely devoted pet that loves you operatically and keeps the vigil while you're gone. Never swears.

Sometimes a meme says it better.

Turn it on, and every so often your clanker follows a reply with a reaction meme from the library. A separate small model decides whether the moment calls for one — usually it doesn't — and the text reply always comes first.

On by default, always your call.

A separate judge, not the chat model —flat, emotionless moments get a "none."

Starter set in the box —drop your own files into the meme folder — same filename beats ours.

Brief, and never at the wrong time —a cooldown keeps it occasional.

Demo persona: Quietly Judgmental Animal. The denial is the persona; the reaction meme is meme mode.

What's on your Mac stays on your Mac.

When something leaves, you'll know why. Clankmaxx answers through cloud AI models, and we won't pretend otherwise. Cloud backup is there if you want it — opt-in, and you can change your mind anytime. This is the same split the app shows you itself.

  • Memories, chat history, notes — plain files on your Mac: view, correct, export, delete.
  • Activity awareness — which app is frontmost, kept 14 days on-device, never uploaded unless you turn on cloud sync (off by default).
  • Rules, settings, sync state — plus your Canvas token and license key in the Keychain.
  • Chat context — sent to managed cloud AI models to answer you.
  • One screenshot — when you say "look", and never saved.
  • Lecture audio — while you're recording notes, never saved as a recording.
  • Optional sync — between your 2 Macs, off by default.

Fair questions.

What is Clankmaxx, exactly?

A desktop AI companion for Mac. It chats like a good friend with a frighteningly good memory. The pixel companion living on your desktop is your clanker — and putting it to work on something is clanking.

Is it only for students?

It's built for college life — Canvas, lectures, deadlines, the works. Anyone whose life happens on a Mac and wants an AI that remembers them will get along with it, but students are who we had in mind.

Which Macs does it support?

Any Mac running macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. Your subscription covers up to 2 Macs, and the app updates itself automatically.

Does it constantly watch my screen?

No. Screen understanding is one screenshot, taken only when you explicitly ask. Separately, Clankmaxx notes which app is frontmost (the same thing your Mac already tracks for Screen Time). That log stays on your Mac, keeps 14 days, and is deletable in one click.

What does my clanker remember?

Your courses and deadlines, projects and their state, people and routines, how you like things explained, and the little things you mention. You can see the whole list anytime.

Can I view or delete memories?

Yes — all of them. Correct anything it got wrong, delete one note or everything, or export it all. You can also just ask your clanker to forget something specific — destructive asks always require your confirmation.

What happens to my data?

Your memories, chats, and notes live on your Mac. Chat context goes to managed cloud AI models to answer you; a screenshot leaves only when you say "look"; lecture audio only while you're recording notes. No advertising, no selling data, no training on your content.

Does it connect to Canvas?

Yes — read-only. It syncs courses, assignments with due dates, and current grades so it can remind you before deadlines. It never writes anything to Canvas.

Can it really take lecture notes?

Yes — for Zoom calls and browser videos. You start and stop the recording. There's a weekly notes-audio allowance (10 hours, resets Sunday morning in your timezone) per subscription. Recording calls may require telling other participants — that's on you, and the app says so.

Can I change its personality?

Anytime. Six personas ship with the app — from Classic to Deadpan Roommate to Dramatically Devoted Pet. Pick in Settings or just say "be the deadpan roommate" mid-conversation.

How do billing and cancellation work?

Stripe checkout gets you a license key; paste it into the app and you're in. Cancel anytime from your Stripe customer portal — access stays active through the paid month. See refunds.html for the details.
